When will I receive the assessment in the mailbox?

How is the waste collection levy structured?
The levy is based on the costs we incur for the collection and processing of waste from our residents. The money residents pay to the municipality is entirely used for collecting, gathering, and processing household waste.
In 2019, we decided to introduce a new method of collection. We want to encourage our residents in other ways to separate their waste even better. Starting in 2021, we will empty the sorting bin once every 3 weeks and the bio bin once every 2 weeks. From March 1 to November 1, the bio bin will be emptied weekly. The waste disposal site and composting area also have extended opening hours. In 2021, additional glass and textile containers are installed so residents can separate their waste even better.
What if I don't have any waste, do I still have to pay the waste collection levy?
You pay waste collection charges if you are the user of an independent living space (for example, as a tenant or homeowner who also lives in the house). Just like the sewage charges, waste collection charges are also mandatory in every household.
How much does it cost?
For waste collection charges, the municipality distinguishes between single-person households (people who live alone) and multi-person households (couples or families).
- For a household with more than 1 person: € 302.40
- For single occupants: € 211.80
How does it work?
In what situation does the assessment amount remain the same?
The assessment amount will not change if you move within the municipality with your entire household. The assessment, as it were, moves with you. The rate for waste collection is a fixed amount per household. Only the household composition affects the amount of the assessment.
When does the assessment amount change?
The assessment amount may change:
- if you move to another municipality
- if you move within the municipality because you are going to live together
- if your family composition changes
- in case of death
If one of the above situations applies to you, you do not need to do anything. The assessment will be adjusted automatically.
Do you disagree with the assessment?
Then object to the assessment.
Do you want to apply for remission of taxes?
The municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel has a remission policy for municipal taxes. In some cases, full or partial remission of the waste collection levy is possible.
