Serving alcohol at associations, in sports canteens, etc.

Managers of catering establishments where alcoholic beverages are served must be in possession of a liquor and catering permit. This is stipulated in the Alcohol and Catering Act.

What do you submit?

In addition to the completed form, we need a copy of the following from you or your supervisor:

  • An extract from the register of associations, available from the Chamber of Commerce.
  • A valid proof of identification of the two persons named on the permit.
  • A valid Social Hygiene certificate from the two managers named on the permit.
  • An administrative regulation.

Who can apply for a liquor and catering license?

This mainly concerns associations, foundations, and other non-profit organizations.

Before you can get a permit, the municipality will check whether your establishment and the persons mentioned on the application meet all the requirements stated in the Licensing and Catering Act. You must apply for a liquor and catering permit if:

  • You want to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • The 'person' mentioned in the permit changes.
  • The layout (structural) is changing.

Alcoholic beverages may only be served after the permit has been issued. The application procedure takes between four and thirteen weeks.
