Serving alcohol at clubs, sports canteens, etc.

Managers of a catering establishment where alcoholic beverages are served must hold a liquor and catering license. This is stipulated in the Liquor and Catering Act.

You apply for a waiver using the application form.

What are you sending?

In addition to the completed form, we need from you, or the supervisor, a copy of:

  • An extract from the register of associations, available from the Chamber of Commerce.
  • A valid ID of the two persons named on the permit.
  • A valid certificate of Social Hygiene from the two managing persons named on the permit.
  • A board regulation.

Who can apply for a liquor and hospitality license?

In particular, these are associations, foundations and other nonprofit organizations.

Before you can obtain a license, the municipality checks that your establishment and the persons listed on the application meet all the requirements set forth in the Liquor and Catering Act. You must apply for a liquor and catering license if:

  • You want to serve alcoholic beverages.
  • The "person" listed in permit changes.
  • The layout (construction) is changing.

Alcoholic beverages may not be served until the permit is issued. The application process takes between four and 13 weeks.
