Kanter Breuker has been mayor of the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel since January 14, 2026. As mayor, he is chair of both the municipal council and the mayor and aldermen's executive committee. The mayor is the face of the municipality.
A key responsibility within his portfolio is maintaining public order and safety. In addition, he presents awards on behalf of the Crown. The mayor also maintains close ties with officials from the province of Fryslân, partners in the region and the Northern Netherlands, and with the Rijksoverheid The Hague.
