Mr. Kanter Breuker is mayor of the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel. The mayor is chair of the municipal council and the municipal executive. The mayor is the face of the municipality. An important part of the mayor's portfolio is maintaining public order and safety. The mayor presents awards on behalf of the Crown. The mayor also maintains contact with administrators at the province in Leeuwarden, in the region, the Northern Netherlands, and the national government in The Hague.
