Ms. Tineke Schokker-Strampel is acting mayor of the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel as of March 4, 2025. The mayor chairs the municipal council and the municipal executive. The mayor is the face of the municipality. An important part of the mayor's portfolio is the maintenance of public order and safety. The mayor presents awards on behalf of the Crown. Furthermore, the mayor maintains contacts with administrators at the province in Leeuwarden, in the region, North Netherlands and the national government in The Hague.
