First aid for money worries

Asking for help with money worries is not always easy. That is why we work together with housing corporations, health insurers, energy and water suppliers. As of January 1, 2021, these agencies are required to report payment arrears to the municipality. This is stated in the Municipal Debt Relief Act. The municipality is working with KEaRN Amargi on the First Aid for Money Problems approach.

First aid for money worries

Following a signal about your arrears, a member of the First Aid for Money Concerns team will contact you to offer help. You may also receive a letter asking you to contact us. If we do not succeed in contacting you and your arrears are large, a staff member will make a home visit. If we do not find you at home, we will put a no-home card in your mailbox with our contact information on it. And the request to contact us for help.

What happens when you get in touch?

Together with you, a member of the First Aid for Money Concerns team will discuss what is going on. And how we can help you. Exactly what we do depends on your situation. And on what you need. You decide whether you want to make use of this offer. The help is free of charge.

For example:

  • Understanding your income and expenses;
  • Create overview and order in your mail and outstanding bills;
  • Deploying appropriate help;
  • Through the website That goes for me we look at whether you can save money. For example, by using allowances or schemes.

Would you like to apply for help to solve your money worries yourself?

If so, contact KEaRN Amargi or the area team.
