Frisian at the town hall

In spoken and written communication with the municipality, everyone can use the Frisian or Dutch language.

It is our policy to address our visitors in Frisian as much as possible, both at the counter and on the telephone. If the visitor or caller does not speak Frisian, we will switch to Dutch.

If we receive a letter or email in Frisian, we will answer it in Frisian.

A complaint can be handled in either Dutch or Frisian. If a complaint is brought before the National Ombudsman in the second instance, it can also be handled in Frisian.
