Do you have a lot of medical waste? Then request an extra residual waste container that is specifically for medical waste. This way you have 1 container for your normal residual waste and 1 for your medical waste. The use of a medical waste container is free of charge, provided that you only use it for medical waste.

Waste due to chronic illness or medical condition

The free scheme is intended for residents of Tytsjerksteradiel who have extra waste due to a chronic illness or medical condition. Examples include bed liners, incontinence material or waste resulting from dialysis or a stoma. Small chemical waste includes insulin needles, lancets and disposable syringes, which can be handed in separately at the pharmacy.

Applications for the medical container

Would you like to request an extra container for medical waste? You can arrange this online. At the bottom of this page you will find the button to the application form. With the form, you fill in a statement and send an attachment to prove that you are offering medical waste.

As soon as we have received the completed declaration back with the requested documents, we will process your application. If approved, we will ensure that the medical container is delivered to you. A maximum of 1 application can be submitted per household.

Please note! The declaration is valid for 2 years. If you wish to continue using an extra container for medical waste for a longer period, a new application is required after 2 years.

If you find it difficult to submit the application online, you can also contact the municipality by telephone on 14 0511 or via the email address gemeente@t-diel.nl. You will then be sent the statement by post.

Demonstrate offering of medical waste

We ask you for proof that you are offering medical waste. You can demonstrate this by sending 1 of the following documents:

  • Are you ordering your materials online? Then add a purchase or packing slip in your name, listing the purchased materials or
  • a named overview from the health insurer listing the medical materials or
  • a (package) receipt from the pharmacy, linked to your name and address.

Ensure that only information about the materials you use is visible. If you want to redact information about other medication or claims, please do so.

Do you no longer have extra medical waste?

Do you currently have a medical container, but are you not (or no longer) using it? Please contact the municipality by telephone on 14 0511, and we will arrange a time with you to collect the medical container.
