Medical waste

Waste due to chronic illness or medical disability

The free scheme is intended for residents of Tytsjerksteradiel who have extra waste due to a chronic illness or medical disability. Examples include bed-pads, incontinence materials or waste resulting from dialysis or a stoma. Small Chemical Waste includes insulin needles, lancets and disposable syringes, these can be handed in separately at the pharmacy. 

Requesting the medical container

Would you like to request an additional container for medical waste? You can arrange this online. At the bottom of this page you will find the button to the application form. With the form, please fill out a statement that includes an attachment so you can prove that you offer medical waste.

Once we receive the statement completely filled out and returned with the requested documents, we will process your request. Upon approval, we will arrange for the medical container to be delivered to you. A maximum of 1 application can be submitted per household. 

Notice! The statement is valid for 2 years. If you wish to use an additional container for medical waste for longer, a new application is necessary after 2 years.

If you find it difficult to submit the application online, you can also contact the municipality by calling 14 0511 or by emailing gemeente@t-diel.nl. You will then receive the statement by mail.

Demonstrate offering medical waste

We will ask you for proof that you are offering medical waste. You can prove this by enclosing 1 of the following documents:

• Are you ordering your materials over the Internet? Please include a named purchase or packing slip showing the materials purchased or
• A named statement from the health insurance company showing the medical materials or
• A (packing) receipt from the pharmacy, linked to your name and address.

Make sure only information about the materials you use are visible. If you want to make information about other medications or claims illegible.

You no longer have additional medical waste?

Do you currently have a medical container, but don't use it (anymore)? Please contact the municipality via telephone number 14 0511, we will then arrange with you a time when this medical container can be picked up again.
