Sewerage charges
Due to a change in legislation, the municipality has been given more water-related tasks. In addition to the duty of care for the sewage system, there is now also a duty of care for rainwater drainage and groundwater management. This costs money. The rates for the sewage levy therefore include an amount to cover these costs.
How does it work?
Sewerage charges must be paid for all properties. The charge consists of 2 parts: an owner's charge and a user's charge.
Anyone who owns a property on January 1 of the tax year will receive an owner's assessment for sewage charges. As a user/tenant of a property, you will receive a user's assessment for sewage charges.
My property is not connected; will I still receive a sewage charge assessment?
Yes. Also users of buildings that are not connected to the municipal sewage system receive a sewage charge assessment. In addition to the users of connected buildings, the users of non-connected buildings also have a general interest in the drainage of rainwater and groundwater management.
What is the basic rate?
The base rate is €52.80. This rate applies to both users of connected properties and non-connected properties. The basic rate for the connected plots is included in the user sewage charge.

Do you want to apply for remission of taxes?
The municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel has a remission policy for municipal taxes. In some cases, full or partial remission of the sewage charges is possible.

- User multi-person household: € 113.40
- User single-person household: € 96.00

- Owner: € 55.80
- User: € 144.00
