More than 300 students from Tytsjerksteradiel take traffic exam
This week, more than 300 students from groups 7 and 8 of primary schools in the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel participated in the national traffic exam. Among them were the enthusiastic students of Thrimwalda primary school in Gytsjerk. Alderman Tytsy Willemsma gave the starting signal here today: "Today you show that you are ready to participate safely in traffic. Good luck!"
Visibility first
To increase the safety and visibility of young road users, all children received a high-visibility traffic vest. "We want all children to be able to use the roads safely. By preparing them well and making them visible in traffic, we are taking a great step together towards a safe Tytsjerksteradiel," says Alderman Willemsma.
Gain practical experience
During the exam, the students cycled a specially designed route through the municipality. Along the way, they encountered various traffic situations where they had to show that they mastered the rules: Who has priority? How do you cross safely? How do you cycle over a roundabout? The traffic exam is an important part of the traffic education program of the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel. Through this program, children learn step by step how to participate safely and independently in traffic, a skill that will be useful throughout their lives. With the traffic diploma in their pocket, they can now confidently and safely go out on their own.
