The number of welfare benefits in both municipalities is very concerning and has major social and financial consequences. This requires action from the people who have ended up in welfare, the government, and the entrepreneurs. The municipalities of Achtkarspelen and Tytsjerksteradiel have therefore put together a special team to find work with employers and benefit recipients.
Employer Team
Due to the current challenges, all Frisian municipalities, the UWV (Employee Insurance Agency), supported employment companies, employers, trade unions, and educational institutions are working together to help as many people as possible who are distant from the labor market find employment. This joint approach is called the Regional Work Company Fryslân Werkt! Employers in both the public and private sectors are guaranteeing an increasing number of extra jobs for people with disabilities. Werkbedrijf Fryslân Werkt! offers employers in the region a single package of services. They can now go to one place with their demand for labor and expert advice on personnel issues. Within this collaboration, it is important to maintain a good connection with local and regional circumstances. The joint Employer Team of the municipalities of Achtkarspelen and Tytsjerksteradiel is the point of contact for entrepreneurs in both municipalities.
A place in the labor market for everyone
We see that many of our residents who receive social assistance benefits do not always benefit from the ample labor market. Our experience is that these residents can take steps towards work, but that this takes time. In addition, some have an occupational disability.

Participate
If you are an entrepreneur who values corporate social responsibility (CSR) and wants to offer opportunities to people with limited access to the labor market, our employer team will provide you with good guidance.
This guidance includes, among other things, providing cost-free support to find the right candidate for a vacancy or work experience placement for you. The right match is paramount!
Furthermore, various 'tools' are available:
- Trial placement (duration depends on distance to the labor market)
- Job Coaching
- Statutory No Risk Policy for candidates from the target group register
- Wage cost subsidy (customization after wage value measurement)
- Exemption from wage costs (UWV)
- Wage value assessment
- Workplace adaptations
- Sheltered employment
We can also use our partner, the UWV (Employee Insurance Agency), to create opportunities for the cost-free deployment of business advice on "inclusive labor organization" (in short: the business scan), so that your organization is sustainably accessible to people with occupational disabilities. Consider, for example, tasks that are routine and have no training requirements.
Social Return
It is possible that you have been awarded a contract by the municipalities of Achtkarspelen or Tytsjerksteradiel, which includes a Social Return (SROI) obligation. For suitable candidates, please contact the Employer Team. We will discuss with you the possibilities to meet the SROI obligation. You can contact one of the account managers.

The employer team makes as many agreements as possible with entrepreneurs. We would like to talk to you and explore the possibilities. We realize that this requires maximum creativity from both sides. Perhaps arrangements are possible, or we can start joint employment projects.
