Single-earner problem

Due to an unfortunate combination of laws and regulations, a group of households is receiving insufficient benefits from the Tax and Customs Administration. As a result, their income falls below the level of households receiving full Social assistance benefit—and thus below the subsistence minimum.

Which households are involved?

We have received an overview from the Tax Office with the number of households that can receive compensation from us. We use this overview for the payment of the compensation. If you fall under this scheme, you do not have to do anything. You will receive a letter from us.

How high is the compensation?

• 2026: €1,100 per year, per household.
• 2027: compensation amount not yet known.
