Proof of guarantee and/or accommodation
Some foreign visitors need a visa to visit the Netherlands. In some cases, a declaration of guarantee is required to obtain this visa.
In the proof of guarantee and/or accommodation, you declare why you invited the person, for example, for a vacation. This helps them to obtain a visa.
What do I need to do?
Visit the Netherlands Worldwide site to see which nationalities require a visa.
Use the form Proof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation from the IND. Print the form and then follow these steps:
- Complete the form, but do not sign it yet! You will do this at the municipality.
- Make an appointment.
- Visit the municipality in person to have your signature legalised.
- If you act as a guarantor for the person, you must sign the form. Your spouse or registered partner must also sign the form at the municipality.
- If you are not acting as a guarantor, but the person is staying with you, only sign the form.
- You pay the costs for the legalisation.
- You send the form to the person who invited you.
Declaration
In the proof of guarantee and/or accommodation, you declare why you invited the person, for example, for a vacation. This allows the person to show the purpose of their visit to the Netherlands, which helps them to obtain a visa. If the person gets the visa, they are allowed to stay here for a maximum of 3 months.
How much does it cost?
A declaration of guarantee costs € 17.10.
