Special May 4 Commemoration in Burgum

On Monday, May 4, we gathered in Burgum to pay our respects to the victims of war and violence. At 7:15 p.m., a silent procession set out from Glinstra State and made its way to the cemetery near the Kruiskerk.

A memorial service was held at the monument, and wreaths and flowers were laid in memory of military and civilian victims.

At 8:00 p.m., we joined the national commemoration with two minutes of silence. Afterward, there was time for gathering and reflection in the Kruiskerk, in keeping with the evening’s theme: “Learning to Understand History.”

A big thank you to everyone who was there. It was a special evening.
