Leafhoppers and cattle trails

As in previous years, the municipality will be placing leaf bins at several locations within its villages in 2026 as a service to residents. The bins will be installed in October. There are no plans to expand the number of locations where leaf bins are placed.

Leaf baskets are not intended for prunings or other materials. This is because prunings are processed differently than leaves. Separation involves higher costs. The municipality regularly empties the baskets. The leaf boxes remain in place until there is no more leaf fall nuisance.

Why leaf baskets?

Leaf litter can be very valuable to the soil life in your garden. So it is certainly not the case that you should bring all leaves to the basket. The baskets are intended only for leaf litter from greenery that falls in your garden and is a nuisance to you. It is also not necessary to clear municipal parks of leaves.

What can you do yourself?

(Too) many leaves in your street or neighborhood? Report it to us with a Report via Fixi. If necessary, the sweeper's route can then be adjusted or extra work can be done.

A few tips to make leaf sweeping as quick and efficient as possible:

Health the leaves are scattered around and not piled up in a big heap
take out branches, because they get stuck in the piston of the sweeper car

Deployment of sweeper car

Leaf litter on municipal land is removed by the municipality by the sweeper car. During the autumn season, in places where there are many trees on municipal land, the sweeper car drives through the street a little more often. You can expect the sweeper car on fixed days in a village. Obviously, the vehicle cannot sweep all streets but will sweep where the leaves are most abundant.

The sweeping schedule during the fall term has been adjusted. Not all streets will be swept. We sweep where it is necessary until there is no more nuisance due to leaf litter. Again, we sweep leaves. Branches cause blockages when sweeping. So no branches in the gutters.

When there is extreme leaf litter, the mowing-suction combination is used on certain routes.
