Safe conditions are always important when firing carbide. As an organizer, you are responsible for ensuring the carbide firing is safe. That's why we like to discuss with you what is and isn't allowed and how we handle it on New Year's Eve.

How does it work?
Carbide shooting is only allowed if it has been reported to the municipality before Sunday, December 1, 2024, 12:00 PM.

Rules for carbide shooting
The rules for carbide shooting are as follows:
- Carbide shooting is only allowed on New Year's Eve from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
- Only 1 or more (milk) churns, containers or storage barrels with a maximum capacity of 40 liters may be used;
- The site where the shooting takes place must be at least 75 meters away from residential buildings and at least 300 meters away from animal shelters.
- You must also have written permission from the owner of the site;
- Indicate the firing direction on the relevant location on a map.
We advise you to use balls instead of lids when carbide shooting. Together with the police, we will assess whether the site where you are planning to set off carbide is suitable. If this is the case, you will be granted permission to set off carbide.
Personal responsibility
You remain responsible for the safe discharge of carbide. You are also liable for any damage to third parties. Furthermore, as the person reporting the activity, you are responsible for ensuring that everyone present during the carbide shooting complies with the applicable COVID-19 measures.
