Nomination Day

Political parties wishing to participate in the municipal elections on March 18, 2026, are required to submit a list of candidates. This must be done on the official nomination day: Monday, February 2, 2026.

The list of candidates must be submitted to the central electoral office of the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel. This electoral office assesses the lists of candidates and checks whether all the necessary documents have been included.

Register your party

An appointment will be scheduled on the day of nomination for the submission of the list of candidates. Political parties are therefore requested to register in advance via verkiezingen@t-diel.nl. All incumbent political parties have now received an invitation. Once your party has registered, you will receive more information about the nomination process in Tytsjerksteradiel. 

Early submission

In addition, an early submission will take place on Monday, January 19, 2026. During this time, the election team will check whether all the necessary documents for the day of nomination are present and have been completed correctly. If this is not the case, the political party will know what is needed to submit the documents completely and correctly at the official time. We also work by appointment during the early submission period. 

Required documents

The following documents must be submitted by each party. 

  • List of candidates (model H1)
  • Declaration of consent from each candidate (model H9)
  • Copy of the front and back of each candidate's identity document
  • Valid proof of identity of the person submitting the application

Does your party not yet have a seat on the municipal council, or is your party participating in the municipal elections for the first time? If so, the following documents must also be submitted. 

  • 20 statements of support
  • Deposit of €225

If your party is participating in our municipality for the first time, please register with Team Elections via verkiezingen@t-diel.nl. After registration, you will receive an information letter about the candidate nomination process in Tytsjerksteradiel, information about all the necessary documents and conditions, and an appointment will be scheduled for the preliminary submission and official submission on February 2.
