You have a sorti bin (gray or black container) at home or you use an underground residual waste container.

What belongs in the sorting bin?

Below you can see what types of waste they are:

  • household residual waste
  • ash residue
  • plastics, metals and beverage cartons

You can hand in bags of household garbage free of charge at the Environmentalraat, Mr. W.M. Oppedijk van Veenweg 10, 9251 GA Burgum.

For plastics, metals and beverage cartons (PMD) you do not need an extra container. The municipality takes the waste to Omrin. Omrin uses post-separation to remove the plastics, metals and beverage cartons from household residual waste.

For more information on post-separation of waste from the sorting bin, visit Omrin's website.

When is the sortie bin emptied?

You can read this in Omrin's Afvalapp, download the Afvalapp for that.

Or check the trash calendar page on our website.

Is your sortie bin not completely emptied?

In connection with frost, for example, material may stick to the bottom of the bin. Our advice is to first put a newspaper in the bottom of the bin. A small piece of wood between the lid prevents the lid from sticking shut.
