Village websites of the college
Every two years, the mayor and aldermen visit all the villages in our municipality. Of course, there is often contact in other ways in between, but this round of village visits takes place every two years.
We believe personal contact with residents and village interests is important. During these village visits, the council hears about current issues, questions or concerns, and opportunities that residents see for the future of their village.
Why do we do village visits?
Every community in Tytsjerksteradiel is different. By visiting each village:
- the council hears directly what is going on in the community
- the council sees with its own eyes what is going on in the village
- ideas, wishes, and points of attention can be discussed
- we strengthen cooperation between village interests, residents, and the municipality
Building strong communities where it is pleasant to live, work, and reside.
What happens during a visit?
During a village visit, the council engages in conversation with village interests, residents, and entrepreneurs or organizations from the village. Topics that often come up are:
- livability and amenities
- traffic and safety
- greenery, nature, and maintenance
- plans for the future
- opportunities and challenges identified by the village
The stories and signals we hear help us to better align policy and implementation with what villages need.
