Villages in the municipality

Together with the municipalities of Achtkarspelen, Dantumadiel, and Noardeast-Fryslân, Tytsjerksteradiel forms one of the most beautiful areas in the Netherlands. It's a region with open space and an impressive amount of greenery and water. The municipality includes 17 unique villages:

Aldtsjerk

The hamlet of Sânhuzen also falls under the village.

Burgum

Burgum is the main town of the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel. 

Earnewâld

Eastermar

Eastermar has a harbor. The hamlets of De Joere, It Heechsân, (partly) Skûlenboarch, and It Wytfean are part of the villages.

Feanwâldsterwâl

Garyp

The hamlets of Iniaheide and Sigerswâld also fall under the village. 

Gytsjerk

The hamlet of Gytsjerksterhoeke also falls under the village. 

Hurdegaryp

Jistrum

Part of the hamlet of Skûlenboarch also falls under the village. 

Mûnein

Noardburgum

The village is located north of Burgum, and part of the hamlets of Kûkherne and Quatrebras fall under Noardburgum.

The hamlet of Sumarreheide falls under the village area.

Tytsjerk

The hamlets of Lytse Geast and Swarteweisein also fall under the village.

Part of Bartlehiem and part of the hamlet of Tergrêft also fall under the village.
