Fokkema replaces alderman De Pee in Tytsjerksteradiel

The CDA party in Tytsjerksteradiel is nominating Doeke Fokkema from Garyp to replace alderman Caroline de Pee, who is leaving for Vlieland. If the council agrees, Fokkema will be alderman until a new council takes office after the upcoming municipal elections. Fokkema is no stranger to the municipality. He previously served as alderman in Tytsjerksteradiel on behalf of the CDA between 2002 and 2018.

Ms. De Pee had previously informed the CDA group of her departure as soon as the appointment of her brother-in-law as the new mayor of Tytsjerksteradiel would be finalized. With her intended move to Vlieland as of December 1, the departure was precipitated and the CDA had to look for a successor.

Given the many changes in the College of Mayor and Aldermen in Tytsjerksteradiel, the CDA deliberately sought an experienced administrator and Mr. Fokkema was asked to replace Ms. De Pee. The CDA is very grateful to Doeke Fokkema for his willingness to temporarily fill this role.

For more than three and a half years, Caroline de Pee served as alderman in Tytsjerksteradiel on behalf of the CDA. We lose in her a valued, knowledgeable and dedicated administrator, but grant her the move to Vlieland and wish her every success in her role as alderman on this island.
