In hedging, vegetation (aquatic plants) is removed from ditches so that the waterways are kept clear and excess water can drain properly. Maintenance of ditches and banks is in many cases the responsibility of the owner of the land along the ditch.

When will there be heckling?

Work will begin in late August. The goal is to finish the work around November 1. In practice, due to inspections, changes and weather conditions, it can sometimes take up to mid-December.

When will the piling slurry be cleaned up?

  • The municipality aims to have everything cleaned up by the month of March each year.
  • Within built-up areas, the goal is to have everything cleaned up before Christmas.

Why does piling mortar sometimes stay in place for a long time?

The clearing of piling sludge is so-called "stop work" for municipality employees. During quiet periods or when there is an empty car in the area, employees clear the piling mortar.

If the fence slurry has not been cleaned up after several months, you can file a report through Fixi.

Who is responsible for mooring?

The owner of the ditch is responsible for the maintenance of the ditch. Often the cadastral boundary is in the middle of the ditch and thus there are 2 responsible parties.

Also check the Wetterskip website.

Request to fence

A request for mooring can be made through Fixi. The employee of the municipality will process the request and verify whether the ditch or watercourse in question is managed by the municipality and whether jacking is necessary.
