Getting your neighborhood's power grid ready for the future

Liander reinforces the entire power grid in your neighborhood as much as possible all at once. This way there is less inconvenience to residents. There will be more electricity rooms between the power cables. This makes the cables shorter and the power grid more powerful.

The Netherlands is growing and changing. We are using more and more electricity and generating our own power. For lighting and heating our homes, electric cooking and charging cars, among other things. As a result, the power grid is becoming full. To be able to continue to connect smart electrical appliances and get power from the wall socket in the future, Liander is already improving the power grid.

A reliable neighborhood approach

Liander's current power grid contains about 35,000 electricity rooms. By 2040, this number will have doubled. To make this doubling possible, Liander is installing about 3,500 spaces per year in the coming years.
