The electricity grid in your neighborhood is ready for the future

Liander is reinforcing the entire power grid in your neighborhood as much as possible in one go. This minimizes inconvenience for residents. More electricity rooms will be placed between the power cables. This will shorten the cables and make the power grid stronger.

The Netherlands is growing and changing. We are using more and more electricity and generating our own electricity for things like lighting and heating our homes, electric cooking, and charging cars. This is causing the electricity grid to become overloaded. To be able to connect smart electrical appliances in the future and get electricity from the socket, Liander is already improving the electricity grid.

A reliable neighborhood approach

The current Liander power grid contains approximately 35,000 electricity rooms. By 2040, this number will have doubled. To make this doubling possible, Liander will install approximately 3,500 rooms per year in the coming years.
