Kanter Breuker installed as mayor of Tytsjerksteradiel
On Wednesday evening, January 14, Mr. Kanter Breuker (56) was installed as the new mayor of the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel by the King's Commissioner Arno Brok. The installation took place during a special council meeting attended by family, the municipal executive, council members, residents, and other interested parties. Kanter Breuker currently lives in Leeuwarden and was, until recently, a notary and independent organizational consultant. He is married and has a daughter and a son.
After taking the oath of office, the new mayor received the chain of office, officially accepting his position. Kanter Breuker succeeds acting mayor Tineke Schokker, who has performed this role with dedication since March 4, 2025.
Together we can achieve great things!
In his first speech as mayor, Kanter Breuker emphasized the importance of shared responsibility in tackling the challenges facing society. "Broad prosperity is under pressure, alongside an ever-expanding municipal agenda. Yet we have strong assets: a close-knit community and a beautiful living and working environment," said Mayor Breuker. "These turbulent times require commitment from all of us. It starts with respect, mutual contact, and appreciation for public administration. I can only do that myself, but together we can achieve a great deal!"
