CSG Liudger students invent healthy snack 'Wrappie'
How do you make your school cafeteria healthier with snacks that are not only healthy but also tasty? Ylse, Eva, Jenthe, Fardau, and Melissa came up with the Wrappie, a healthy snack for the school menu. Today, all students at CSG Liudger could sample the Wrappie for free while picking up their report cards.
A week full of ideas for getting fit
Last week, students from CSG Liudger in Burgum participated in the 'Fitte wike' (Fit Week). For a week, the students worked on activities related to health, exercise, and mental resilience. Part of this healthy week was brainstorming about tasty and healthy food and drinks for the canteen. They brainstormed about ingredients, came up with creative names, and determined a selling price. This resulted in the 'Wrappie'.
Healthy choice
After the summer holidays, the school will continue with a plan to temporarily add healthy products, including the Wrappie, to the range. This will make it easier for students to make a healthy choice.
Healthy youth, healthy future
The healthy school canteen is an initiative of JOGG director Dore Bakker. With the JOGG approach, the municipality works together with the GGD (Municipal Health Service) and other partners to make the living environment of young people healthier. "It is important and fun to involve young people in thinking about healthy snacks. They have influence and discover that healthy can also be very tasty," says Bakker.
