Multifunctional Accommodation Jistrum

A Village Development Society (DOM) project was launched in Jistrum in 2019. This focuses on the cooperation between the municipality and the village and working on the livability and future-proofing of Jistrum. One of the projects is the realization of a multifunctional accommodation. In Jistrum the facilities, such as school, childcare and sports clubs, are spread throughout the village. Thanks to the MFA, these facilities can be maintained. In this way, clustering facilities contributes to the livability of the village.

On September 16, 2021, the town council approved the proposal to build a multifunctional accommodation in Jistrum. The MFA will house Bernemienskip De Greide, the pre-school and childcare centers, v.v. Jistrum, indoor sports clubs, music association Joost Wiersma, theater association Snieskeppers, the PKN congregation and the youth box. This makes the MFA a building for and by the village. The MFA will be at the location of the existing gymnasium.  

The MFA is an initiative from the village and is in cooperation with the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel. All associations and (social) organizations from the village are involved in the project. The building will be designed by Alynia Architects.
