Environmental Vision
In the Environmental Vision, we lay down what the municipality will look like in the future. Consider, for example, how we want to live in the future, how we want to grow old healthily, how our children can play carefree, how we get around.
Why an environmental vision?
Beautiful Tytsjerksteradiel is our municipality and we are proud of it! We are economical with our DNA and strong base, at the same time we want to improve Tytsjerksteradiel. The question is what our municipality should look like in 20 years. What developments are coming our way and how do we respond to them? What wishes do we ourselves have for the physical living environment? And how will we achieve this together?
These questions underlie the environmental vision. This is a vision that we prepared together with our residents and involved organizations. It outlines our ambitions for the spatial development of Tytsjerksteradiel until 2040. Strong ambitions to keep our municipality beautiful.
We need this vision to chart a course and assess initiatives. But, who decides whether an initiative is a good idea? It is logical that not everything can go everywhere. However, the environmental vision should not close off everything. That is why this environmental vision has a different approach than the traditional structure visions that have been made in the Netherlands in recent years: clear about what we want to achieve, without laying down exactly which functions are possible where. We want to build in flexibility and thus be able to respond to developments and needs.
With the environmental vision, we are preparing for the new working method of the Environment Act. We will regularly have to hold the ambitions we pursue up to the light. Are they still relevant or are there new developments to which we must respond? In the latter case, the environmental vision may have to be revised in those areas. We continuously keep our finger on the pulse and adjust the vision if the future requires us to do so.
