Scammers active in municipality

Currently we are receiving many reports from residents reporting suspicious situations where the municipality is mentioned. We want to alert you to 2 situations that are common now. But of course it is important to always be alert. Never let anyone in just like that. And always ask for proof of identity when someone comes on behalf of an agency or company.

Don't trust the situation?

If so, call the police immediately at 0900-8844 or at 112 (if the perpetrator is still in the area).

Beware of companies ringing up for a grant check or insulation advice

There are residents who have had "someone from the municipality" at the door for a subsidy check or advice on insulation. The person explains that he or she is coming because of a subsidy from the Sustainable Building Counter of the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel. The person wants to come in and asks to transfer money. This is not how we work! Do not trust the situation and do not respond.

  • If the municipality gives advice on subsidies or insulations, we announce our actions in advance through the info page in the newspaper, our website and social media. The person can provide identification and proof that he or she is an employee of the municipality.
  • The Enerzjyhûs Garyp also calls on residents in the village. They too can identify themselves.

Beware of unreliable sewer plumbers

There are companies operating in our community that claim to be a reliable sewer service and leave customers with sky-high bills and poor work. The companies do not give a clear price upfront and have no Chamber of Commerce registration.

Do you live in Tytsjerksteradiel and have sewer problems?

If so, always contact us first. Go to the sewer page on our website for more information and our contact details. In case of emergencies, we can also be reached outside office hours.

If you want to hire a plumbing company:

  • Choose a local, licensed sewer service.
  • Don't fall for a professional-looking website with fake reviews and 085 phone number.
  • Always ask for a fixed price in advance.
  • Check if the company has a Chamber of Commerce number.
  • Never pay cash without a receipt.
