Gytsjerk Cooperative School Will Be Affiliated with Adenium

(July 7, 2026)

The previous post about the May 19 meeting explained that the process regarding the future of elementary education in Trynwâlden is entering a new phase. The exploratory phase has been completed. Plans are now being further developed, and decisions are being prepared.

It was also noted that the school boards wanted to provide clarity before the summer break regarding which board would oversee the potential new collaborative school in Gytsjerk. The boards involved have since reached a tentative decision on this matter. Once all procedures have been carefully completed, the new collaborative school will fall under the administration of Adenium.

This does not mean that all formal steps have already been completed. The parent-teacher councils of both schools will be involved in the further decision-making process. In this regard, they have their statutory rights to provide advice and give consent.

After the summer break, work will begin on further developing the collaborative school. The schools will then work on a shared vision for education, the shared identity of the future school, and the official steps toward decision-making. Parents/guardians, staff, and other stakeholders will receive more information after the summer break about the next steps and the opportunities for their involvement.
