Tytsjerksteradiel remains a Fairtrade Municipality: will you help?
The Municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel can once again call itself a Fairtrade Municipality for two years. This means that the municipality, together with residents, companies, shops and social organizations, continues to opt for fair trade. In doing so, the municipality contributes to better living and working conditions for farmers and workers in developing countries. And the municipality also opts for products from the region.
A title to be proud of
The municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel has been a Fairtrade Municipality since 2010, with the aim of contributing to a better world and actively involving residents in this. To be a Fairtrade Municipality, a municipality must meet various conditions, such as using Fairtrade products in the municipal office, shops that sell Fairtrade products, and catering establishments that serve Fairtrade coffee or tea. There must also be an active core team that organizes activities and promotes Fairtrade. 'Thanks in part to the efforts of the volunteers, our title has now been renewed, a great result!' says Alderwoman Berber van Zandbergen. 'It is a title to be proud of!'
Call: join the core team
To keep Fairtrade alive in Tytsjerksteradiel, we need your help. We are currently still working with the core team of Achtkarspelen. It is also time for the core team to continue independently, because it is precisely with local involvement that we can make a difference. Are you interested in fair trade and do you want to commit to a more sustainable world? Then sign up for the core team! You can contribute ideas for campaigns, organize events, or simply lend a hand from time to time.
