Safety in neighborhoods

Together we want to look at a safe living environment. Therefore, we always seek contact with residents to jointly see how we can address unsafe situations.

Sometimes this is very simple by placing a traffic barrier or just trimming away some greenery. Sometimes the issues are a little more difficult such as with confused people. But as a municipality, we cannot do this alone, which is why we need the help and reports of our residents.

Would you like to get in touch with us about this? Please email veiligheid@t-diel.nl.

Residential burglary

The number of burglaries in the Netherlands and also in our municipality has fortunately been decreasing for years. Yet, unfortunately, too many people are still victims of residential burglary.

As a municipality, we want to do our best to further reduce the number of residential burglaries. We do this with prevention campaigns. Yet this is not enough and we also need the residents! That is why we support the neighborhood WhatsApp.

Do you see anything suspicious?

Report it in the neighborhood WhatsApp and call 0900-8844. In case of a flagrante delicto call 911.

Road Safety

Traffic safety is of great importance to everyone who travels in our municipality: pedestrians, cyclists, motorists and public transportation passengers. A safe traffic environment prevents accidents, protects vulnerable road users and contributes to a livable neighborhood.

The municipality therefore invests in safe roads, good lighting, clear traffic signs and campaigns to improve traffic behavior. Together with residents, schools and companies, we work on awareness and responsible behavior in traffic. For example, we hand out bicycle lights during bicycle lighting checks, we support the bicycle exam and the municipality provides reflective vests to increase visibility. We also provide information on alcohol/drugs and traffic.

If you have a traffic-related complaint or have another traffic-related question, please email team Safety at veiligheid@t-diel.nl.
