Hawking
If you want to sell goods or services on the street or door-to-door, this is only allowed if the municipality permits it. You may need to apply for a permit for this.
How does it work?
With a hawker's license, you are allowed to sell your goods or services in public places, such as the public road, on public water or at the door.
Hawking means that you sell your goods in a different place each time, so not in a fixed location. Examples of hawkers are the ice cream seller or greengrocer with a mobile cart. We do not consider the following as hawking:
- You are distributing written or printed materials in the context of freedom of expression.
- You are a shopkeeper and you deliver goods to a buyer's home.
- If you sell your goods from a fixed location or at a market, you need a market stall permit or a pitch permit.
How much does it cost?
- A commercial trading permit costs .
- The vending permits for local associations are free of charge.
