Revised subsidy scheme Village Budget 2026

The Tytsjerksteradiel Village Budget subsidy scheme has been updated in several areas for 2026. This gives villages, village interests, and local associations more scope to develop initiatives that enhance quality of life, vitality, and community spirit. The scheme is part of the 2025–2027 pilot.

What has changed compared to 2025?

  1. Extended target group
    In addition to village interests, non-profit organizations and associations that are statutorily based in our municipality can now also apply for development and project subsidies. This gives the local community more opportunities to further their ideas.
  2. New: subsidy for insurance of decorated floats
    From 2026, villages will be able to apply for a subsidy for the insurance of decorated floats for parades and village festivals. The subsidy will be a maximum of €2,500 per year, with a savings option of up to €5,000.
  3. Increased village budgets
    From now on, the village budget will be calculated based on the number of residents. The maximum amount per village will increase to €3,500. This will allow villages to invest more in quality of life and activities for residents.
  4. Fair distribution of resources
    Applications are no longer processed in order of receipt. The council now makes a broader substantive assessment, so that the available budget is distributed fairly and evenly between and within the villages.
  5. New obligation for associations and organizations
    Associations and organizations that wish to apply for a subsidy must inform the village council in advance. This ensures that everyone stays on the same page and we can work together on strong plans.
  6. New grounds for refusal
    An application may be rejected if:
    - a subsidy has already been granted for the same activity by the municipality;
    - no co-financing has been sought or when this was reasonably possible.
