On this page you will find various walking routes in our municipality.

Cultural historical walk Burgum

This walking route consists of two parts. The first part goes through the built-up area and is approximately 3 km. The second part goes through the rural area of Burgum. The total walk is approximately 9 km, starts at the town hall and ends at hotel-restaurant 't Roodhert. There are plenty of places for a break along the route. The cultural-historical walking route through Burgum has been partially realized with financial support from the Province of Fryslân. You can find the route at the bottom of this page.

Short walks with an honorable mention

In 2006 Landschapsbeheer organized a ommetjes competition. Three ommetjes in Tytsjerksteradiel ended in the first 10 with an honorable mention: The Ritskeboskpaad and the Belvedêrepaad in Burgum and the Stedmapaad in Eastermar.
