Burglary Prevention Week, June 15–21
Burglars often strike in the summer. Many people are on vacation during this time, spend more time outdoors, or leave windows open to cool down their homes. This makes homes more vulnerable. We’re also seeing that burglars are working faster and with greater precision. They look for small clues, such as a dark home, an open window, or a full mailbox.
The number of burglaries in Tytsjerksteradiel has been rising for several years now. That is why, during Burglary Prevention Week (June 15–21), we are focusing extra attention on making your home secure. You can significantly reduce the risk of a burglary by taking simple precautions. Think of good locks, outdoor lighting, or closing windows and doors when you leave.
