The municipality establishes the requirements for urban design. These requirements concern:

  • the characteristics of the existing buildings;
  • the public space;
  • the landscape;
  • the urban planning situation;
  • mass, structure, size and scale.

Architectural requirements for environment permit

Are you applying for an environmental permit? Your application for an environmental permit must, among other things, comply with the aesthetic requirements. Your building plan will be assessed against the Aesthetic Standards Policy. If a plan does not comply with the Aesthetic Standards Policy, the municipality will not grant an environmental permit.
