80 years of freedom yn Tytsjerksteradiel

This year we commemorate and celebrate that 80 years ago World War II ended in Friesland and we have lived in freedom ever since. Throughout the province we are remembering that Friesland was liberated thanks to the efforts of soldiers from allied countries and with the help of the resistance. We do this with activities and commemorations in which stories of the past stimulate reflection on the meaning for the world today. 

Also in Tytsjerksteradiel there are many activities around 80 years of freedom. We have already experienced many special moments in recent weeks, but also in the coming period you can see, hear and feel all kinds of things about the liberation in our beautiful villages. There are various lectures, commemorations, walks and celebrations for young and old.
