Adjustment of Jobinder student transport
Jobinder previously announced that larger buses and fixed boarding points would be used for student transport after the Christmas holidays. This plan has generated many reactions, especially from parents and council members. The protests, including petitions, were reason for the Jobinder board to consult with the carriers again. As chairman Kees Wielstra previously indicated, Jobinder is not deaf to these voices. A different solution has been worked on hard in recent days.
New agreements with carriers
Jobinder, together with the contracted carriers, has found a solution to carry out the student transport in the coming period as children and parents are used to. Agreements have been made with the carriers about the required capacity. If another solution is needed in the future, it will be well prepared in consultation with parents and carriers in good time.
Plan with boarding locations will not proceed for the time being
The routes with boarding points were intended as a solution to the short-term capacity shortage, but also to build in space for possible extra growth in the number of students until the new tender for transport. The extra capacity of vans is currently sufficient to transport the current number of students. Jobinder will be working in the coming months to be well prepared for any growth in numbers in the future.
Outlook
The board of Jobinder is pleased with this contribution from the carriers, who are providing more than they are contractually obligated to do. With these solutions, Jobinder expects that there will be sufficient capacity for the 2024-2025 school year. Jobinder is also working on a new tender for transport after 2026, which will include new agreements on capacity. This process is expected to be completed in August 2025.
