Town Hall closed from December 20th to January 2nd

The municipalities of Achtkarspelen and Tytsjerksteradiel will terminate their cooperation as of January 1, 2025. From January 1, 2025, the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel will once again be independent. The services will remain as you are used to: from the town hall in Burgum.

From Friday, December 20th to Thursday, January 2nd, our services will be closed to facilitate the transition to an independent IT environment. During this period, we will only process birth and death registrations and will only be reachable by telephone.

Arrange your affairs in time 

Renew your passport, ID card or driving license on time, and also report your change of address in time. Unfortunately, this is not possible during the closing period.

  • If you urgently need the travel document or driving license, or immediately after the closing date, please arrange this before December 12, so that you will receive these documents in 2024.
  • If you do not need the travel document yet and can wait a while, please make an appointment in January.
  • Are you moving between 20 December and 2 January? Please notify us of your move 4 weeks in advance so we can process it in time.
