Students from OBS Hurdegaryp learn to realize their money dreams
Students from groups 6 and 7 of Openbare Basisschool Hurdegaryp were taught by education alderman Caroline de Pee on Thursday. It is the week of money. During this week, children and young people learn how to handle money. This way they lay a healthy financial foundation for the future.
How do you make your money dreams come true?
'Making smart financial choices can help you achieve your (financial) dreams. It was great fun to let the students experience this realization with the exercises in this lesson,' says alderman Caroline de Pee. Through a quiz and statements, among other things, the students discovered how they handle their (pocket) money and what other choices they can make to save money.
Preventing debts
De Pee provided the guest lecture together with Jeltinke Sytsma, debt service provider at the municipality. Sytsma adds: 'As a municipality, we want to do everything we can to help residents prevent debt; what is learned young is done old. For example, we have our Money Guide, which provides an overview of all the support available in the area of debt assistance. All municipal schemes can also be found in the guide'.
