New village center Gytsjerk: attractive, safe and liveable
The new village centre of Gytsjerk was officially unveiled on Friday. What started with a joint village vision at the end of 2021 is increasingly yielding visible results: a renewed environment that enhances the village's quality of life and attractiveness.
Alderman Tytsy Willemsma and Lucas Talsma from Dorpsbelangen (local interest group) jointly opened the redesigned Rinia van Nautaweg-Noord, De Viersprong, and the shopping area on De Canterlanden. The official opening took place at the intersection of De Viersprong, where villagers and interested parties witnessed this special moment. After the official opening, they gathered at De Canterlanden, where those involved provided explanations about the project. Over coffee and pastries, the completion of the new village center was celebrated.
Redesign
When making the plans for the redevelopment, special attention was paid to the use of sustainable materials. For example, sustainable baked paving bricks with a more appealing look were chosen. Speed-reducing measures and extra greenery make the new village center not only more beautiful, but also more pleasant, safer and more liveable. Councillor Tytsy Willemsma is very pleased with the result: "The redevelopment is a great example of cooperation between Village Associations, residents and the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel, working together on the future of Gytsjerk."
