Sporting talent honored in Tytsjerksteradiel

Tuesday evening, the sports talent of Tytsjerksteradiel was in the spotlight. During the festive ceremony for sports champions of 2024, athletes from the municipality were celebrated. The hall was filled with proud supporters, family members and coaches who came to celebrate these special achievements.  

A lot of sporting talent 

Athletes and sports teams who achieved a regional, national, or international title in 2024 could register for the ceremony.  

'The diversity of sports is great. All these champions have delivered a top performance. We are extremely proud of so much sporting talent in our municipality,' says alderman and sports enthusiast Caroline de Pee.   

Honored sports champions 

During the ceremony, the following athletes and sports clubs were honored: 

  • FC Burgum / Noardburgum, Champion of the main division phase 2;
  • Franke Hellinga, Dutch, Frisian and Regional champion in Three-Cushion Billiards;
  • Avelyn van Tuinen, Dutch BMX champion, girls aged 7 category;
  • Antje Sytske Ypma, Frisian champion marathon youth; 
  • Reinou Tigchelaar, Frisian champion in 50 cm jumping;
  • Doutsen Leijenaar, Five-time Dutch National Athletics Champion: 60m hurdles, high jump, long jump, combined events, and 150 meters;
  • Robbin de Jager, Champion Friesland Cup Marathon (not present)
  • Nina van der Vliet, Frisian champion gymnastics, vault event; 
  • International champions within the rhythmic gymnastics district;  

    Anna Bosgra, Elin Stam, Ilse van der Vliet, Varia Slaston, Ilse Anderson, Bela Egbertsen, Nina van der Vliet; 

  • Senior group DFS Burgum, Dutch champion rhythmic gymnastics;
  • Senior group DFS Burgum (2), International champion rhythmic gymnastics;
  • DFS Burgum/Turnlust Drogeham entry-level group, Dutch champions in group jumping; 
  • Benjamin Group DFS Burgum, Champion national placement competitions; 
  • Pre-Junior Group DFS Burgum, Dutch champion pre-junior rhythmic gymnastics; 
  • Senior C group DFS Burgum/ Turnlust Drogeham, Dutch champion microteam group jumping.
