Sporting accolades in Tytsjerksteradiel
On Tuesday evening, no fewer than 28 athletes from the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel were the focus of attention during the ceremony honoring sports champions of 2023. Together with a large crowd of fans, family members, and coaches, they were festively honored and serenaded by Wâldsjonger Marcel Smit.
A lot of sporting talent
Athletes and sports teams who achieved a national or international title in 2023 could register for the ceremony. In addition to the number of champions, the variety of sports was also striking this year. "What sporting talent we have in Tytsjerksteradiel! It's great to see that different sports are featured at the ceremony every year. All these athletes symbolize a healthy lifestyle and perseverance. We are proud of all athletes in the municipality, each at his or her own level," says alderman and sports enthusiast Caroline de Pee.
Honored sports champions
During the ceremony, the following athletes and sports clubs were honored:
- Koerina Dijkstra, Dutch Championships winner Skills class L;
- Thijs Hitzert, Dutch champion relay athletics;
- Juniorengroep DFS-Burgum, Dutch champion rhythmic gymnastics;
- Pre-Junior Group DFS-Burgum, Dutch champion rhythmic gymnastics;
- Duo Ilse van der Vliet and Mila Ros, Dutch champions in rhythmic gymnastics;
- Nina van der Vliet, Dutch champion Fierljeppen girls 11 to 12 years;
- Jelmar Hempenius, Dutch Champion Inline Track (200m) & Dutch Champion Inline Road (100m);
- ModèstoDûns Sealife group up to 13 years, Dutch Champion Showdance KNGU & North Netherlands Champion NNKS;
- Jan de Bruin and Naud Looijenga, Dutch champions group jumping Microteam Youth Men B;
- Berber van Tuinen, Naud Looijenga and Bjorn Bruining, Dutch champions in group jumping, Airtumbling, Trampoline Pegasus and Trampoline Youth Mix C;
- Naud Looijenga, Dutch Trampoline Champion Pegasus - Youth Men B.
