Tineke Schokker-Strampel acting mayor of Tytsjerksteradiel
The King's Commissioner, Drs. A.A.M. Brok, has today sworn in Tineke Schokker-Strampel as acting mayor of the municipality of Tytsjerksteradiel at the provincial government building in Leeuwarden. She is the temporary successor to Mayor Jeroen Gebben, who has been the director of the Fryslân Safety Region and general commander of the Fryslân Fire Brigade since March 1.
Mrs. Schokker-Strampel will start on March 4th and will remain until the appointment of a new Crown-appointed mayor of Tytsjerksteradiel. This appointment is expected to take place at the beginning of next year.
The King's Commissioner, Mr. Brok, and the confidential committee of the municipal council of Tytsjerksteradiel have agreed that an observer would be appointed until the arrival of a Crown-appointed mayor. The council was able to make wishes known to the commissioner that the observer should meet. The council will now start working on a profile for a new Crown-appointed mayor. The recruitment procedure will start after the council has established the profile.
Tineke Schokker-Strampel (CDA) lives in Eastermar. She was previously mayor of Vlieland (2015 – 2021), member of the Provincial Executive (2007 – 2015) and member of the Provincial Council in Friesland (2003 – 2007).
