Fireworks and the turn of the year
Fireworks and the turn of the year - Safety first
New Year's Eve is a festive time when many people enjoy fireworks. Safety always comes first in this regard. To guarantee everyone a safe and enjoyable turn of the year, there are clear rules for setting off fireworks and carbide shooting.
New regulations regarding fireworks during New Year's Eve
The national government is working on the implementation of the Safe New Year’s Eve Act (Wvj). This law will introduce a nationwide ban on consumer fireworks. Under the law, municipalities will still be able to grant exemptions for organized fireworks displays, subject to certain conditions.
We are currently exploring how these new regulations can be implemented locally. As part of this process, we are considering the possibility of granting exemptions for fireworks activities under certain conditions.
No final decision has been made on this matter at this time. As soon as we have more information about the local rules and conditions, we will notify you via the municipal website and other communication channels.
Carbide shooting
Carbide shooting is not covered by the Safe New Year’s Eve Act. The existing rules that have applied within the municipality in previous years continue to apply; see the page on carbide shooting.
Together we ensure a safe turn of the year
Our Safety Department works with police, fire and enforcement to monitor and deal with violators. Report suspicious situations or nuisances immediately by phone by calling the municipality's general number 140511.
We wish everyone a safe and festive New Year!
