Apply for passport or identity card, 18 years or older

You will need a DigiD login code to do this. While applying online, you can pay and make an appointment right away. The appointment is needed to submit a photo, fingerprint and sign your signature.

One week later you can pick up your passport or identity card at the reception desk. This can be done without an appointment.

Passport

• Passport: €86.85
• Second passport or business passport: €86.85
• Refugee or alien passport: €65.70
• Rush: the amount of the passport requested and € 59.10 extra

• Your valid travel documents
  All valid passports and identity cards you still have, even if they have expired. You do not need to bring invalidated documents (e.g. with holes).  
• Debit card or cash
  Haven't paid online yet? Then bring your debit card or cash with you. You pay directly at your first appointment.
• A passport photo that meets passport photo requirements
  If you do not yet have passport photos that meet passport photo requirements, have a passport photo taken at the professional photographer. An online passport photo service does not meet the requirements. 

You can pick up your passport/identity card yourself at the reception after 5 working days. This can be done without an appointment during our business hours.

Pick up your new passport within 3 months. After that, it will be destroyed and you must reapply. 

Rush request

If you need your passport/identity card quickly, make an urgent application. To do so, make an appointment by calling 14 0511.

If you apply for your passport/identity card before 2 p.m., you can usually pick it up the next business day from 9:30 a.m. onwards. You pay extra for an urgent application.    

Emergency Passport

Are you leaving today? Then contact the Royal Military Police for an emergency passport. 

Are you traveling abroad with minor children (up to age 18)? Then you need proof that you may travel with the children in the following cases:  

• They are your children, but they have a different last name than you have;
• You do not have custody of your children;
• They are not your children.

You can apply for a second passport if you:

• Travel to different countries for which you need to apply for a visa
• visiting countries in conflict with each other.

Make sure you do meet the requirements for a second passport and bring the proper documents. Read more about this on the central government website.

You can apply for a business passport if you travel often (for work, for example). This is a normal passport, but has twice as many pages for stamps.

Apply for second passport/business passport

If a physical or mental disability prevents you from applying for a passport or identity card in person, the municipality will come to you. If in doubt, the municipality will ask you for a medical certificate.

If you are unable to get fingerprinted due to a temporary physical disability, you will get a passport or identity card that is valid for one year. If you have a permanent disability, you will get a passport or identity card that is valid for ten years.
