Tytsjerksteradiel has a huge variety of landscapes. You can do all kinds of water sports here and the diverse landscapes offer many opportunities for walking and cycling. National Park De Alde Feanen and the village of Earnewâld form the tourist center of the municipality. The National Landscape Noardlike Fryske Wâlden, to which the municipality largely belongs, also has a lot to discover: the rich scenery with elms and wooded banks, beautiful dirt roads, pingo's from the Ice Age and in the Trynwâlden the states with the beautiful parks alongside.

The 17 villages of Tytsjerksteradiel each have their own character. In Burgum, the largest village is fine shopping.
