Tytsjerksteradiel has a huge variety of landscapes. You can practice all kinds of water sports here, and the diverse landscapes offer many opportunities for hiking and cycling. The Alde Feanen National Park and the village of Earnewâld form the tourist center of the municipality. The Noardlike Fryske Wâlden National Landscape, to which the municipality largely belongs, also has much to discover: the rich coulisses with alder hedges and wooded banks, beautiful sandy roads, pingos from the Ice Age and in the Trynwâlden the estates with their beautiful parks.

The 17 villages that Tytsjerksteradiel has each have their own character. Burgum, the largest village, is great for shopping.
